Reply: Gale Ketteler, Public Information Officer for the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Utilities Board, said: “The water treatment process used by the Winston-Salem / Forsyth County utilities eliminates any dirt that may be present in spring water drawn from the Yadkin River and Salem Lake. . What this reader notices is oxidized iron, not dirt. For the best cleaner, the reader can search online for DIY solutions or product reviews to remove iron stains and then decide what is best for their situation. “
Veterans recognition program planned
Trellis Supportive Care and Flow GMC Winston-Salem will be hosting a Veteran Drive Recognition Event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 13, in the former Sears parking lot at Hanes Mall. Veterans will be treated to a rough style lunch, courtesy of Flow GMC Winston-Salem. Bolt, the Dash mascot, will be there, with live music and the 2020 Freightliner “Ride of Pride”. Participants are kindly requested to stay in their car during the event.
“Before COVID, we were running eight veteran cafes per month across the region. Our goal is to create opportunities for Veterans to learn about valuable resources and enjoy the fellowship, ”said Don Timmons, Trellis Supportive Care Community and Veteran Liaison. “Even though the participants will be in their cars, there will be a wonderful spirit of connection. “
