Gojira announced that guitarist Christian Andreu has left his current tour and confirmed who will be his replacement for the time being. The French metal band is currently on the road with Deftones and there are eight shows left before the end of the race.
Don’t worry, everything is fine between Andreu and his bandmates – he’s gone home to be with his newborn son. As a result, Klone guitarist Aldrick Guadagnino will replace him for the remainder of the tour.
“Christian went home to be present with his first newborn and so Aldrick Guadagnino from Klone stepped in and killed him! He will be with us until the end of this tour. One way or another another, we managed to find a Frenchman who rips the guitar and looks exactly like Christian!” Gojira wrote in a post on their social media.
“As some of you may have heard, Aldrick has been asked to replace Gojira guitarist who recently became a father. Congratulations Christian,” Klone wrote in his own statement on his Facebook page. “Aldrick will be playing 10 shows with Gojira, supporting Deftones in the US and will be back to play our final 3 shows. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and there are no words to express how happy we are all and proud.”
The tour will resume tonight (May 18) in Philadelphia and conclude May 28 in Minneapolis. See the bands’ messages and remaining tour dates below.
Congratulations to Andreu and his family!
