Two wanted for armed robbery in Houston | Chickasaw Journal

HOUSTON – Houston Police and the Chickasaw County Sheriff‘s Department are looking for two unknown suspects following an armed robbery in Moneyman on Wednesday morning, December 16.

No injuries were reported.

Moneyman is a cash loan, payday loan and check cashing business located on Kyle Drive.

The theft was reported via a call to 911 at around 9:39 a.m.

Investigators said an employee was alone in the store when two young black men entered through the front door. Both were masked. One showed a semi-automatic pistol. They forced the employee to give them a bag containing cash and also took the employee’s cell phone. They then left the store.

The amount of money withdrawn was not disclosed.

No money or cell phone had been recovered as of Friday, December 18 at noon.

It is not known whether the thieves came or left in a vehicle. Authorities were originally told the two left in a specific vehicle, but that vehicle was later located and was not involved in the theft.

Officers did not know when the last armed robbery took place in Houston.

The authorities urge citizens to be aware of their surroundings, throughout the year but especially during the holidays. Thieves are always looking for easy pickings. To avoid this, authorities are urging people to keep their vehicles locked and not to leave gifts and other stolen items in plain sight in a vehicle.

Those with information about the case are urged to call the Houston Police Department at 662-456-2554 or the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department at 662-456-2339.
